    Abstract

    Abstract The importance of identifying the various weaknesses of wood sector lies in the vulnerability thereof and the significant contribution in generating jobs. Establish what are the main causes affecting the sector support the generation of strategic alternatives in the sustainability of enterprises. The study establishes the overall objective of "wood characterization of the population of San Ignacio de Velasco sector." The methodology used was based on a literature review of existing legislation supporting production units, socialization of the study, the application of a semi-structured questionnaire and analysis of the information obtained. The same descriptive analysis was developed that identifies the problems affecting the sector and the various weaknesses in training by which crosses. To determine the degree of development and competitiveness of different production units methodology Ansoff 1957 and 2000 Porter methodology was used. The results identify the current situation of production units by setting the following variables; year old machinery, personnel use, acquired knowledge, safety, education, financial institutions that support the sector, and identifying topics for training required by the sector. The study shows that micro and small enterprises of wood have a low degree of development due to limitations in the form of work carried out.
