RAMIREZ MARTINEZ, Ivonne¹; MALDONADO SANABRIA, Cesar²; VILLACORTA GUZMAN, Richar³  and  GALLARDO MATIENZO, Germán4. A study case of attitudes toward and interest in science on seniors from Sagrado Corazón and San Agustín high schools. Rev. Vent. Cient. [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.12, pp. 1-8. ISSN 2305-6010.

Abstract This study is descriptive and analyses the image of science that high school seniors from Sucre and Cochabamba have, how they perceive science is being taught at schools, and how scientific vocations are perceived among them. In addition, this paper explores the scientific interests among them. Research and trust regarding science that would be capable of developing and changing a nation is at the center of this paper; in short, it explores the ways of doing research and science in South of our country. So for this purpose, the educational system is vital, since it contributes to scientific training of future generations. This research has found teaching at schools does not pay attention on attitudes toward and interests in science and these aspects are precisely of a pivotal necessity. Therefore, educational system has to work to introduce a positive attitude toward science. As a conclusion, the elementary and high school education should be constant through higher education, so instead of seen a declination on the scientific interests, education could increase positive attitudes toward and interests in science, and consequently, it would become an authentic way of educating a real scientist, capable of researching to change his/her reality.
